ProBlock has been specifically developed for six-sided sealing (dip sealing) applications. By treating all sides of the stone, it effectively minimizes moisture intrusion and staining from beneath or around the tile. Its unique formulation allows surfaces to breathe while preventing the upward migration of salts and minerals that lead to discolouration and structural deterioration.

This low-VOC, water-based penetrating sealer ensures safety and environmental compliance while maintaining ease of use. It functions exceptionally well as a grout release, helping prevent grout haze and residue build-up during installation. Importantly, it is not an adhesive bond breaker, allowing for secure and lasting adhesion between tile and substrate.

Versatile Use across Stone & Masonry Surfaces

Aqua Mix® ProBlock is suitable for a wide range of porous and semi-porous materials including granite, marble, limestone, basalt, travertine, sandstone, bluestone, slate, concrete pavers, brick, and masonry. It can be used indoors or outdoors as a pre-sealer or grout release agent, providing reliable protection prior to applying the final surface sealer.

Its natural-look finish preserves the authentic texture and colour of the stone, making it ideal for premium architectural, commercial, and residential installations where both performance and aesthetics matter.

Application Method

Before applying, ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, coatings, or sealers. Apply a single even coat using a brush, roller, or by dip sealing (six-sided application). For optimal results, 100% coverage is recommended. If applying a colour enhancer or enhancing sealer such as Aqua Mix® Enrich’N’Seal™ later, do not pre-seal the top surface with ProBlock, as it will inhibit penetration of enhancing sealers.

After applying, allow the surface to remain wet for several minutes, then polish off any unabsorbed residue using a clean cotton or paper towel. Adequate ventilation is necessary during the curing process.

Drying and Curing

Allow at least 48 hours of curing before installation and a minimum of 2 hours before grouting. During curing, ensure the surface remains dry and exposed to proper airflow. Do not expose the surface to moisture during this period.

For installation, treat sealed surfaces as low-porosity substrates and consult your adhesive supplier for appropriate adhesive specifications. The sealed underside must be properly wet out with adhesive using the flat side of a trowel before applying the notched layer to ensure maximum bonding strength.

Coverage & Equipment Care

When applied to all six sides, Aqua Mix® ProBlock provides coverage of approximately 4–14 m² per litre per coat, depending on surface porosity and site conditions. Clean tools and applicators with water immediately after each use to maintain product performance and consistency.

Important Limitations

• Not suitable as a final top surface sealer.
• Do not apply to non-recommended surfaces.
• If allowed to dry on the surface, a light film may appear, remove using water and a white nylon pad.
• Not designed as a waterproofing agent.
• Do not apply before enhancing sealers.
